  1. Blog Comment Exercise:
    1. Go to this page, find your blog group. (If you didn't make your blog public, you need to set it up so that that  those in your blog group and I can read it. This video explains how to set permissions.)
    2. Click on links to your blog group's blogs and read them.
    3. Comment on all of the blogs with one summary post on the class discussion board. (If you'd like to comment on the blog you can, of course, but, for the sake of effeciency, I will only view the comments posted on the class discussion board.)
  2. Web History:
    1. Read/watch this NSF presentation on the history of the internet.
    2. Read my blog post on the Web and hypertext.
    3. Watch the video interview with the Pew Internet Project's Lee Rainey on the future of the web on this page.
    4. Watch the TED talk, by Kevin Kelly, "Predicting the next 5000 days of the Web".
    5. Post on the class discussion board and address the following:
      1. Describe some over-riding philosophical beliefs that you discerned that drove the creation and development of the internet and web.
      2. Consider the Rainey interview and Kelly talk on the future of the web. What aspects of the expert's predictions do you agree with, what do you not agree with, and what do you believe they left out that will happen with the web in the future.
  3. Web Studies Weekly:
    1. Watch the premiere episode of Web Studies Weekly.
    2. Post your thoughts on the event(s) that interested you most and why on the class discussion board.
